|The international development sector in Wales benefits from the contributions of more than 5000 volunteers.
This unique and innovative sector sees community groups and small voluntary organisations across Wales delivering impactful and unique development projects across the developing world.
Hub Cymru Africa, offers FREE training on a variety of topics to support civil society efforts and enhance the contribution of the Welsh sector. These courses are funded by the Welsh Government’s Wales for Africa programme for Wales-based organisations only.
We can offer a limited number of the training courses below on a bespoke basis to individual organisations or network bodies. If you would prefer to receive training or development support through the medium of Welsh, contact a member of the HCA team.
If you have any request, please contact us to discuss.
Shared Learning Events
Shared Learning Events are opportunities for Wales-Africa and Fair Trade groups/organisations and individuals to come together and learn from each other’s experiences. Hub Cymru Africa (and its partner organisations) will facilitate these events, which will focus on different themes.

Forthcoming Training Days
Hub Cymru Africa is happy to offer the following training and development support opportunities for Wales-Africa and Fair Trade groups/organisations over the next 6 months (Jan 2017 - June 2017).
Current Training Courses
These are 1-day courses on a range of topics associated with managing a small-medium international development or Fair Trade organisation, and delivering activities in Africa. Any individual or organisation based in Wales who works in these areas is eligible to attend. College/university students should only attend if they are actively involved in a relevant organisation (as these courses are designed for practical participation and support, rather than study content).
The courses are free to attend. Tea, coffee, juice and biscuits will be available, but participants will need to provide their own lunch - we will ensure that there is somewhere near each training venue where lunch food can be purchased. Travel and childcare costs cannot be claimed.
The following courses will be run over the next 6 months. Registration should be done online under the Eventbrite site links. Each course needs a minimum of 7 people to run – we will advertise the registration numbers as they occur.
As well as these training events, Hub Cymru Africa will also be piloting a set of new mini modules and offering one to one advice for organisations or individuals on a request basis.

THET Fundraising Guide
Hub Cymru Africa team member Jenny Fletcher recently worked with the Tropical Health Education Trust (THET) to develop a Fundraising Guide and Video.
The video outlines the basic information for beginners and also provides a useful resource for those who have worked in the sector longer.
