The Small – Scale Initiatives Program (PPI) aims to strengthen the contribution of civil society in Sub-Saharan African countries to biodiversity conservation, while improving the living conditions of local communities, by funding concrete, community-level field projects. The funded themes include biodiversity conservation, particularly the following sub-areas (non-exhaustive list): -The creation or improvement of the management of protected and “conserved” areas ; -The conservation of threatened species (according to the IUCN Red List); -The restoration of ecosystems; -The sustainable use of natural resources and fair sharing of conservation benefits; –Anti-poaching initiatives; -The improvement of human–wildlife coexistence.

Cymhwysedd:: Civil society and women’s rights organisations. The lead organisation must by a legally registered non-governmental organisation with a proven track record in promoting women’s political participation, transforming social norms and leadership, enhancing in advocacy and movement building, or similar criteria. The lead organisation must have certified annual financial statements for the previous three years and at least 3 years of experience in related work. The proposal must be for an initiative in one country.
