Oceans 5 is a funders’ collaborative, includes new and experienced philanthropists with a common inspiration for collaborative, results-oriented grant making. The collaborative shares the desire to secure tangible improvements in global ocean health, while also strengthening ocean conservation philanthropy. We prefer time-bound efforts involving multiple organizations working toward common policy objectives. Our work focuses on projects to stop overfishing and to establish marine reserves, the two highest ecological priorities identified by marine scientists. We are inspired by opportunities, particularly ones that can bring lasting benefits to coastal communities. Whilst they do not accept unsolicited applications, they welcome inquiries and ideas for potential projects.
In 2023, grants ranged from USD $100,000 – USD $1.25m. All existing grants can be seen here https://www.oceans5.org/grants/
